The Federal Reserve System was created over 100 years ago with the signing of the Federal Reserve Act on December 23, 1913. FRASER’s curated collection of documents relates to the Federal Reserve Act as passed in 1913. This collection, or “theme,” features hearings, draft legislation, and congressional reports. The highlight of this collection is the original text of the Federal Reserve Act, complete with the signature of President Woodrow Wilson.

Since 1913, the Federal Reserve Act has been amended several times. The most recent version is available from the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
